Superior-North Canoe Outfitters General Information Help for Beginners If this is your first canoe trip we will be happy to demonstrate how to paddle a canoe, the proper way to pick it up, and correct loading. We will also show you how easily tents are pitched, and advise you in the use of camping equipment. Even beginners can have a successful canoe trip. We welcome the opportunity to help you. What to Bring We suggest you take the following items: 1 pr. boots (8-10" top) 1 pr. moccasins or sneakers 2 pr. wool socks 2 sets underwear 1 flannel shirt 1 wool shirt 1 cotton shirt Pajamas A light, warm jacket 2 pr. tight weave pants Wide brimmed hat Bathing suit Insulated underwear Cotton gloves (early & late trips) Belt-knife Compass Flashlight Pliers Sunglasses Small sharpening stone Toilet articles Wash cloth & towel Chap-stick Insect repellent Suntan lotion Camera & film A good paperback or deck of cards is well worth its weight on a rainy day. RODS - Spinning or spin casting rods are the all-around best choice for our area's walleye, bass, northern and lake trout. Fly rod? Bring it along...use poppers or streamers and you can have a great time with the smallmouth bass. LURES - Bring your favorite tackle, but try to keep it compact...a few spoons, plugs, leaders, hooks and sinkers with a few jigs thrown in should do it.
